Cat Health Problem – HELP

Try feeding him meated baby foods without onions ar room temperature. Hi Everyone, I am replying to my own post here. Today at lunch i opened a can of Tuna and made Tuna sandwiches while I gave Pookie the Tuna "water" with some Tuna bits and he ate a good portion of that … a good sign! Just thought I’d post this! Lou

Lou – It sounds like your vet has been making a valiant effort to figure out what is going on. I can only suggest that if Pookie doesn’t improve, get a second opinion. Find a house call vet if you have to.

I’m sorry to hear about your cat and hope everything checks out okay and he starts eating again soon. You might try sprinkling a little parmesan cheese on his food to get him to eat. Y’know, reading your description, he sounds almost depressed! And the attention at teh vets perked him up to eat and talk. Have you tried extra, extra attention and skritching ( I know, probably, but I had to ask). Just a thought. A second opinion might not be a bad idea if he doesn’t perk up, even though it does sound like your vet is covering the bases. Sometimes it just takes a different view point. Karen

We bought that SAME food and he eats just a few nibbles and that is it since he is back home. The vet could not give an answer for his voice loss either! (his tongue and mouth look good he said). If there was any cancer you would have thought all those tests would have showed it! I refuse to put Pookie thru any "exploratory" surgeries so he is at home and we are hoping he will start to eat. The vet said he did see some evidence in his CBC that there were "stressed cells" so we wonder if Pookie is suffering from some sort of post operative stress? Anyone ever have this situation (cat stress)?
