Help with new cat
Question:
Hi!!!! We just got a new cat today. His name is Tiger and is the cutest thing!!!!!! He has been canstantly meowing, unless we hold him. We can not hold him all the time!! Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do to get him to stop? Also how do you stop him from climbing on the bed? He seems to love that for some reason. Thanks for your help!!! Reina, Russell and King Tiger
Response:
Was Tiger with other cats before he came to live with you? If so, that could be one reason. Cats are social animals & sort of like Lays potato chips: you can never have just one. Personally, I’d never consider having just one. I work odd and, at times, long hours. Even when I’m not at home, they have each other to play with and to keep each other company. Also, if he is of age to be neutered, I’d have that done right away. My kittens Leo & Tiger are going for this very thing tomorrow. Tiger is fairly calm, but Leo has been feeling the call of the wild and starts yowling at about 1AM every morning, not to mention spraying (usually windows… anybody know why?). I would suggest that you go to the bookstore and pick up a couple of books. First, get a book on general cat care. This will give you the basic guidlines on how to care for your new companion. Secondly, get a book on cat health. This will be a good source of information if Tiger gets sick. As I have learned the hard way, Cats can have the most innocuous symptoms for the most serious things. Good luck!!
