Hi Janene! Long time no see! Glad to see ya back! I was just as worried when each of my four Ladies were spayed, so I understand how you feel. My thoughts are with Skye. I just hate the waiting the day of surgery. My two baby boys (4 month old kittens) are getting neutered next Tuesday and I’m getting worried already. <s> Krazee4Katz and the house of 14 katz Please spay and neuter all companion animals. >^.^< Don’t declaw.

Hi Janene, When our kitten was spayed, she appeared to be in a bit of pain afterwards (I was even a bit teary eyed about it). Not eating for day or so – but we kept an eye on her and gave her all the love and attention that we could 
She was better within three days of the op. Hey Marlene, How are you? I’m still around, I don’t really have much of a chance to read the NG lately…we’re househunting and trying to find out when we can expect my husband’s green card. (hopefully soon!) It’s all a bit overwhelming. I just picked Skye a few minutes ago. She is VERY drousy, but she seems to be doing okay so far. She’s just sleeping and being a lump. I’m not going to get too alarmed yet.. her brother was just as groggy when he was neutered. But thank you very much for your happy thoughts… we both really appreciate it!! I hope to be able to participate more soon, I miss you guys:) Hope you all are well and thanks for the good wishes. Janene

Thanks soo much Phil. As I just mentioned in my reply to Marlene, things around here are kinda hectic but I hope to be able to participate in the group more often soon. Skye seems okay… just scary.. STITCHES!!! *scream* Oh… I was right.. Bailey is definetly "obese". Mr. Bigguns weighed in at 13.5 pounds. (10 months old) So, he’s going to get put on less active food. My doctor gave us Science Diet Less Active, but I don’t want to use it because of the icky tocopherols. (sp) Have any suggestions for some other brand of Less Active? If you do, that would be terrific, thanks!! At any rate, thanks again Phil. Hope you and your kitties are doing well. Janene

Thanks so much, Connie!! I spent the day at my parent’s house and then we went shopping. Shopping certainly helps keep your mind off these kinda things.. but while I was there, I bought them toys and catnip and a new water dish:) Skye was named after a place in Ireland. My grandfather was an Irishman and I’ve always felt a certain connection with the Irish. She is black and tan with a white shirt and nose and little piggy nose spotted pink and black. She’s gorgeous:) And sooooooo sweet, and loving!! I know how you feel. When I was having Smudge spayed, I just couldn’t relax, almost couldn’t believe she would be ok until I got her and Peeper back the next day. To make matters worse the place was unbelievably boring without the two cats playing and chasing each other and bothering me. Take heart, I am sure Skye will be back and as active as ever, and if like Smudge within a few hours of getting home. Best wishes Larry Osborne
