To de-claw or not to de-claw?
Question:
> IMO, it depends on each individual cat, as to how "trainable" they
are. IMO, it depends on each *individual*, as to how much effort, dedication, understanding, and compassion they have for their cat. Declawing a cat means the *indivudual* failed as a trainer, not that cat is untrainable… Declawing a cat is punishing the cat for the indivudual’s failure, not the cat’s. Scratching is natural for a cat; dismembering, disjointing, and mayhem are not. If an indivudual can’t train a cat where to scratch, the cat is smarter than s/he. Similarly, if an indivudual can’t trim claws, s/he is too inept and/or lazy to have a cat. http://maxshouse.com/facts_about_declawing.htm http://maxshouse.com/Claw%20Trimming.htm http://maxshouse.com/understanding_scratching.htm Phil – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> Cathy > — > "Decades gliding by like Indians, time is cheap."
